Dear Secretary Pompeo,
We the Tamils for Trump are writing this letter to plead for a stop the Chinese involvement in North-East of Sri Lanka, which is the Tamils’ inheritance and their homeland over thousands of years.
On the last occasion when the Tamils fought for their freedom from Sri Lanka, Chinese-made weapons were used to destroy the Tamils’ homeland and killed more than 145,000 Tamils.
The Chinese are ruthless and have no respect to human rights. We do not want them to come to North-East in the name of suppressing the Tamil struggle for freedom, wrongly viewed by the oppressive Sinhalese establishment in Sri Lanka as separatist terrorism. It is instead a fight for justice and independence, principles on which the United States was also founded.
We the Tamils would prefer the US military to provide protection for the Tamils, especially in the North-East of Sri Lanka.
Regarding the Islamic terrorism so recently in the news, the US army must come to Sri Lanka and eradicate this threat.
To remove the genocidal Sri Lankan military from the North-East and to allow Tamils to live in peace, it is necessary to bring the UN peace keeping force to this part of Sri Lanka.
In the final analysis, the US needs to help arrange a referendum to decide the Tamils' future. The Sri Lankan government cannot be trusted.
