Conservatives who are alarmed by the potential of a Democratic Congress gaining subpoena power over President Donald Trump are now warning their followers that they will get brutally beaten by anti-fascist activists if they don't vote.

Bloomberg's Joshua Green reports that former Trump political strategist Steve Bannon has released a new film called "Trump @War" that shows footage of antifa activists beating up Trump supporters.

According to Green, Bannon believes that "the bloody images of Trump supporters being attacked are a necessary motivator because voters have responded to Republican efforts to tout their tax cut and raise alarm that Democrats could impeach the president with a yawn."

Bannon also says of the film: "If we’d put it in theaters, it’d be X-rated for violence."

Bannon's strategy of hyping the purported antifa menace has found a willing audience on Fox News, where hosts such as Laura Ingraham and Sean Hannity have been warning viewers that they are physically at risk from violence from left-wing groups.

Trump himself even got in the game during a recent meeting with evangelicals in which he warned of antifa-fueled violence if Democrats were to take back control of Congress.

"They will overturn everything that we’ve done, and they will do it quickly and violently," Trump said. "And violently. There is violence. When you look at antifa -- these are violent people."
