MSNBC's "Morning Joe" visited Mississippi -- where they found President Donald Trump's supporters were open to voting for a Republican primary challenger.

The hosts conducted a focus group with eight voters in Oxford, and Joe Scarborough noticed a revealing detail about their support for the president.

"The four people that voted for Trump are still with Trump, even if one of them wouldn't use Trump's name -- he said, 'I voted for Pence,'" Scarborough said. "But they said they would vote for him again in the general, but it was very interesting."

"Caveats," said co-host Mika Brzezinski.

"Every single one," Scarborough agreed.

Those Trump supporters perked up when he asked about potential GOP challengers in the 2020 primaries, Scarborough said.

"I said, 'What if Mike Pence or Nikki Haley ran against him in a primary?'" Scarborough said. "They said, 'Oh, we'd be totally open to that.' Which was interesting, you wouldn't have gotten that with Barack Obama and Democrats 18 months in, you wouldn't have gotten that with George W. Bush supporters."

"Every one who said we are behind Donald Trump, said, 'Oh yeah, if Nikki Haley ran against him, if Mike Pence ran against him, oh we'd certainly consider that."
