Malinowski gets Red to Blue

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has put Tom Malinowski in their Red to Blue program after he raised more than $1 million for his bid to unseat Republican Rep. Leonard Lance in New Jersey’s 7th district.

“From standing up to dictators as an Assistant Secretary of State to working to forge peace while on the National Security Council, Tom Malinowski has spent his life serving our country and fighting for human rights,” said DCCC Chairman Ben Ray Luján (D-New Mexico). “Tom’s deep knowledge, unwavering principles and dedication to regular folks will make him an excellent Congressman. No matter the challenge or obstacle, Tom gets the job done and it’s why he’s built such a strong campaign.”

While not a formal endorsement from the DCC, the Red to Blue designation offers additional opportunities for Malinowski to raise money and gain key campaign support.

Malinowski has secured organization lines in Union, Essex, Somerset, Hunterdon, Morris and Warren counties.  The field of candidates for the Democratic nomination has dwindled from seven to three, with Malinowski still facing attorney Goutam Jois and 2016 Lance opponent Peter Jacob in the primary.
