American Bankers Association CEO to speak at North Kingstown chamber event

NORTH KINGSTOWN – Robert Nichols, president and CEO of the American Bankers Association, is scheduled as the keynote speaker at the North Kingstown Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting and Business Excellence Awards Dinner in March.

The chamber will hold the event on March 22 at the Quidnessett Country Club, according to an announcement. Kristin Urbach, executive director of the chamber, said she’s honored to have Nichols speak.

“He is mindful of what the banking sector will look like five, 10, 20 years from now and is focused on the convergence of banking and technology, uniting banks and marketing to millennials, which is the largest chunk of the nation’s demography,” Urbach said in a statement.

Nichols joined the ABA in 2015. The association represents financial institutions with nearly $17 trillion in assets. He previously spent a decade as head of the Financial Services Forum.
