Nazi SS officer donated thousands to the RNC after being exposed for war crimes: report
Nazi massacre of civilians

A Minnesota man wanted in Poland for Nazi war crimes donated thousands of dollars to the Republican National Committee, according to a new Daily Beastreport.

Michael Karkoc made three contributions to the RNC after the Associated Press revealed he was a SS officer. The RNC did not respond to The Beast's request for comment and is apparently keeping the contributions, which totaled $3,850.

Karkoc's son, Andriy Karkos, said his father has been a "lifelong Republican" after immigrating to America after World War II. The Associated Press additionally reported that Karkoc lied to immigration officials, claiming he did not engage in any military service during the war.

“He has a picture of Ronald and Nancy Reagan in his bedroom,” Andriy Karkos noted. "I'm assuming he voted Republican [in 2016]."

In March, Andriy Karkos claimed the allegations were directed by Vladimir Putin.

"This is a fake news story, this story was made up by Putin and the Russian secret police to attack Ukraine and Ukrainians," Andriy Karkoc claimed.

Prosecutors seeking extradition disagree.

"All the pieces of evidence interwoven together allow us to say the person who lives in the U.S. is Michael K., who commanded the Ukrainian Self Defense Legion which carried out the pacification of Polish villages in the Lublin region," prosecutor Robert Janicki noted.

Janicki stated he was "100 percent" confident Karkoc was a commander of a SS-led Ukrainian Self Defense Legion unit that allegedly massacred civilians.

"Any legal step that's taken against these people is very important," said Efraim Zuroff, the head Nazi hunter for the Simon Wiesenthal Center. "It sends a very powerful message, and these kinds of things should not be abandoned just because of the age of a suspect."
