The Sauk-Calumet Group of the Illinois Sierra Club will hold its monthly meeting on November 13, at 7:15 pm at the Frankfort Public Library, 21119 Pfeiffer Rd.

Karen Hudson of SRAP (Socially Responsible Agricultural Project) will talk about CAFO’s (Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations), which include the growing numbers of hog farms in Illinois. Hog farms have garnered much attention recently for their effects on water quality, and noxious fumes that affect neighboring farms.

Sierra Club meetings are free and open to the public. People interested in outdoor activities and preserving the environment are encouraged to attend. For additional information, email Patrick Coffey at [email protected].
