NDSU Lands Five on All-Summit League Softball Team

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - North Dakota State had five softball players selected to the All-Summit League team Tuesday, May 11, by a vote of the league's seven head coaches.

Shortstop Montana DeCamp was named to the first team while pitcher Lainey Lyle, catcher Avery Wysong, third base Sam Koehn and center fielder Madyson Camacho were named to the second team. DeCamp is a three-time all-league first team honoree (2017 and 2019) and Camacho earned her second all-league honor (first team in 2019).

DeCamp, a senior from Indianola, Iowa, ranked fourth in Summit League play with 26 hits, tied for second with five doubles, tied for the league lead with four sacrifice bunts, and ranked second in fielding assists with 62. DeCamp is hitting .281 overall with eight extra-base hits including two home runs and has 13 RBIs.

Lyle, a sophomore from Middleton, Idaho, ranked third in Summit League games with a 1.65 ERA and limited opposing hitters to the fourth lowest batting average at .185 in league play while tying for fifth in the league with 47 strikeouts. Lyle has a 6-6 record overall with a 2.92 ERA and 63 strikeouts in 74 1/3 innings.

Wysong, a junior from Beaver Creek, Minn., threw out a league-high seven base stealers and tied for the league lead with six home runs. She ranked eighth in Summit League play with a .623 slugging percentage and sixth with 16 runs batted in. Wysong is hitting .279 overall and leads the Bison with eight doubles, seven homers and 26 RBIs.

Koehn, a senior from Altoona, Iowa, made 43 of 44 starts at third base for NDSU this year. She is hitting .221 with 10 extra-base hits including two home runs and is second on the Bison with 20 RBIs. Koehn hit .254 with 10 RBIs in Summit League games.

Camacho, a senior from Homeland, Calif., tied for seventh in the league with 23 hits and ranked ninth in runs scored (12) and batting average (.359) while tying for seventh in league play with four stolen bases. Camacho is hitting .328 overall with a team-high 41 hits, eight stolen bases and 18 runs scored.

No. 3 seed North Dakota State is scheduled to host No. 6 North Dakota at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, in the opening round of the Summit League Softball Championship presented by U.S. Air Force Special Warfare.
