The Jan. 23 Politics & the Nation article “White House reverses Trump orders seen as hostile to federal workers” characterized three of President Donald Trump’s executive orders as reflecting “the Trump administration’s general view that federal personnel policies should be more results-oriented.”

That is nothing more than whitewash on a rotten fence. These executive orders were an unprecedented modern-day union-busting tactic, part of a coordinated array of attacks on the federal workforce — including moving two Agriculture Department offices to Kansas City and destroying the neutrality of the Federal Labor Relations Authority.

What makes these tactics particularly despicable is that they were executed by the same government that is supposed to uphold and protect the rights of American workers. Federal workers, prepare. We will see these tactics again.
