Florida not releasing daily COVID-19 report after lab submits 400K previously-reported results
The Florida Department of Health will not be providing an update on COVID-19 numbers Saturday after a lab submitted roughly 400,000 previously-reported COVID-19 test results, officials said. Health officials said the state received the previously-reported results Friday night from Helix Laboratory, which is a private lab that is not affiliated with the state of Florida.Officials said there are no delays in notifying people who have recently tested positive virus. "The massive size of the data file and the need to de-duplicate hundreds of thousands of results prevented the Department of Health's automatic reporting system from processing yesterday's results as it normally does," a statement from the health department said.Officials said the daily reports will resume on Sunday.
