Bill O'Reilly: Buttigieg comes out on top in Iowa caucuses, but where does he stand on the issues?
February 08, 2020
Bill O'Reilly joined Glenn Beck on the radio program Friday to give his take on how the Democratic presidential race will pan out following the calamitous Iowa caucus, which didn't give Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) the big lead he likely expected.
Sanders and former mayor of South Bend, Pete Buttigieg, are neck and neck for the lead with 26 percent in the state delegate equivalents. But the mainstream media has never been friendly toward Sen. Sanders, and because Biden's campaign seems to have stalled, O'Reilly predicted that the press will soon be switching allegiance to the fresh-faced candidate from Indiana.
But where does Buttigieg stand on the issues? O'Reilly wanted to know.
"Buttigieg is an interesting character because you don't know what he stands for. You don't know because he's never sat for a serious interview with anybody and the debates are jokes ... so, I don't know what Pete Buttigieg's vision for the country is," he said.
"For example, open borders," O'Reilly continued. "Does Pete Buttigieg support open borders? Would he deport people? Is he a single-payer health care guy? What's his health care vision? What would he do with taxes? Would he raise corporate taxes and personal taxes? Nobody knows. Pete Buttigieg -- and I've said this before, and I really think this is the best analogy -- he looks like a cast member of 'Happy Days'."
