Yo soy in it to win it!

@elbloombito is back to translate Michael Bloomberg’s putative run for the White House into really bad Spanglish — and poke fun of the billionaire ex-mayor in the process.

“Yo runningo para el presidente por que un billionairo de Nuevo Yorko esta exactlyo what el countryo needs ahora,” wrote the Twitter wag known as Miguel Bloombito.

The twitter handle was founded by Rachel Figueroa, an upper Manhattan blogger, in 2011 during Bloomberg’s mayoral reign to mock his halting efforts to learn and speak publicly in Spanish.

Bloomberg, a media mogul who is one of the world’s richest men, shook up the presidential race by taking steps that suggest he may enter the Democratic primary race.

So far the reaction has been tepid, with most analysts pointing out that it will be difficult for Bloomberg to get traction in the crowded race. It’s especially unclear how Bloomberg might make inroads with the Democratic Party’s increasingly diverse base, a topic that @elbloombito may weigh in on in the weeks ahead.
