Coventry City midfielder Wesley Jobello has today undergone successful surgery to repair his knee ligaments and will now begin a long and gruelling injury rehabilitation period.

The 25-year-old ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament in training earlier this month just days before Coventry's trip to Rotherham in League One.

The French-born winger started 10 games for  the Sky Blues  during the early weeks of the season after joining from GFC Ajaccio in the summer, scoring in City's 3-2 win over Blackpool at St Andrews .

The club have already confirmed the rupture will keep him out of action beyond the end of the campaign but today received the positive news that surgery on the injury has been a success.

Development players Dan Bartlett and Reise Alassani have both already been ruled out for the season, with Bartlett also having undergone surgery this month to repair a ligament tear.

The club have had little luck with ACL injuries in recent seasons with Jodi Jones, Max Biamou and Tony Andreu all suffering similar setbacks that cost them months on the sidelines.

Biamou has now made a full recovery, scoring for the Sky Blues in Saturday's 2-2 draw with Peterborough, while Jones is continually edging closer to a first-team return.

Earlier this month, Jobello said: "I will fight again to return as soon as possible and I wish the very best to my team, Coventry City, for the rest of the season."

This week's Sky Blues Q&A!

There is plenty to talk about at the end of an October month that has certainly posed some questions.

Mark Robins' side arrived off the back of September unbeaten and looking in fine shape to continue their push for automatic promotion.

But an early season blip saw them fall to consecutive defeats and since then they have slowly and surely had to fight they was back into promotion contention.
