Cleantech efforts to avoid climate catastrophe are so much of a threat to the current US government that it is going on the offensive. Lying and suppressing information are not enough. People are starting to wake up and demand action. So, the Trump administration is reverting to the tried and true methods of propaganda.
Patriotism is always a good look when all else fails, so they think it can be used as a part of a strategy to keep the tide from turning against fossil fuels. However, lies, voter suppression, and moves towards authoritarianism are the antithesis of freedom.

As Philip K. Dick told us, “Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn’t go away.” So, how does “freedom” prevent runaway climate change? It doesn’t. This is a cheap ploy to appeal to the gullible.
