About the Annual Memorial Service for Canadian Police and Peace Officers
On September 24, 1998, the Government of Canada officially proclaimed the last Sunday of every September as the annual Canadian Police and Peace Officers' National Memorial Day. This day of remembrance provides Canadians with an opportunity to formally express appreciation for the dedication of police and peace officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice to keep our communities safe. The memorial takes place every year, on Parliament Hill. For more information, please visit the Canadian Police Association website at www.cpa-acp.ca.
