Titan Technologies introduces the world's first Auto-return SUBSEA Tensioner at OTC 2008

Houston based Titan Technologies, the fastest growing company in the bolting technologies industry with global representation, has dramatically changed the SUBSEA Bolt/Stud Tensioner landscape with the introduction of a new and radically innovative SUBSEA Tensioner System. Titan has applied for a patent for this new technology.
The risk and consequences of developing a leak in subsea pipelines, has led to a "industry standard" of bolt tightening under water for critical applications. Using SUBSEA Tensioners all the bolts are loaded simultaneously. This achieves a even bolt load and compression of the gasket and ensures a leak-proof flange connection. Heretofore the process required the tools to be sent top side to rewind the piston and leakage of hydraulic oil into the sea was common. The Titan invention allows the pressurizing fluid to be individually released from each SUBSEA Tensioner locally back into the sea. This simple solution allow the springs to quickly and easily return the piston.
The Titan AquaTite(TM) uses dematerialized water as its hydraulic fluid instead of Hydraulic Oil. Any possibility of leaking Hydraulic oil which is used in most current SUBSEA Tensioners, into the ocean, is eliminated. The Titan AquaTite(TM) is 100% environmentally friendly and pollutant free.
