Reno Mayor Schieve is among the speakers at the Governor’s Global Tourism Summit, Monday thru Wednesday in Reno, at the Silver Legacy. The annual Nevada Governor’s Global Tourism Summit connects Nevada’s tourism industry with international buyers and media for marketplace appointments and professional development. It is organized by the Nevada Division of Tourism. This year’s summit will feature a special tribute dinner for Gov. Brian Sandoval on Nov. 13. The international market is crucial to the tourism industry. Each overseas traveler spends about $4,360 when he or she visits the United States, and stays on average 18 nights, according to the U.S. Travel Association.
