Cynthia Nixon said she hopes that President Donald Trump will sign “more executive orders protecting all of us from him.”

The comments came Thursday during her appearance on “The View” after Joy Behar asked her thoughts about Trump signing an executive order Wednesday that temporarily ends family separations at the border, allowing families to be detained together while they await prosecution for illegally crossing the border.

“It’s devastating, the images from the border and I have to say the recordings of children begging for their parents,” the “Sex and the City” star shared. I’m — I guess I’m glad he has signed this executive order against himself protecting them from him.

“I wish he would sign some more executive orders protecting all of us from him,” she added.

Behar then asked her why she thought “reporters and congressmen” would not be allowed to visit the sites, where the kids have been held, for at least two weeks to see what’s going on in those places.

“Well, I think it’s exactly the same as how they didn’t want to show footage of Vietnam because it turns public opinion so much,” Nixon said. “When you show people what’s really happening and the brutality and the injustice of what’s happening, people — it’s very hard to defend this kind of a policy.”

“But what’s important to know also, that parents and children aren’t just being separated at the border, you know. they’re being separated throughout this country by ICE [Immigration and Customs Enforcement],” she added. “I think we need to abolish ICE  that seems really clear.”

“What would you replace it with,” Behar asked.

“We don’t need to replace — you know, ICE is relatively new,” Nixon explained. “It came in after September 11th. We’ve been handling immigration and customs for a long time here. We don’t need ICE they have strayed so far from the interests of the American people and the interests of humanity. We need to abolish it.”
