Two former presidential candidates visited New Hampshire on Tuesday, raising speculation about their plans for 2020.
Republican Ohio Gov. John Kasich was set to speak Tuesday evening at New England College in Henniker. On Tuesday morning, Democratic former Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley spoke at St. Anselm College.
Before his speech, Kasich spoke to WMUR's "CloseUP" and didn't shy away from his increasingly vocal opposition to President Donald Trump. Kasich rebuked Trump after the president tweeted about ending the DACA program Sunday.
"To say on Easter Sunday -- on Easter Sunday, the greatest day of hope, at least in the Christian world, and even in the Jewish world of Passover, hope -- you take hope away from a group of people," Kasich said. "I don't think it's right."
O'Malley spoke earlier in the day at a Politics and Eggs event.
"We have to shake ourselves out of the pity party," O'Malley said. "We have to hold out and cast away the fear of the future."
O'Malley also spoke to "CloseUP" and said, like Kasich, he hasn't yet made up his mind about making another bid for the White House.
"I think you're going to see the (Democratic) Party fielding a pretty large field, and I think the public is looking for a new leader," O'Malley said.
The interviews with Kasich and O'Malley can be seen on "CloseUP" at 10 a.m. Sunday.
