Ice Cream Tussle with a Cop: Jonathan Pacheco-Sanchez, 35, was charged with strong-arm robbery and additional offenses after he allegedly stole merchandise from Food Bazaar on South Clinton Avenue Tuesday night and then fought a city cop. Officials say a cop working a security job at the supermarket saw Pacheco-Sanchez flee the store after loss prevention personnel reported that he stole merchandise. Pacheco-Sanchez refused orders to stop running, according to officials who say he tossed some stolen items as the chase continued onto Walklett’s Alley. When the officer eventually caught up to him, officials say, Pacheco-Sanchez pushed the cop onto the ground, which sparked a lengthy struggle. Eventually, assisting officers arrived and helped arrest him. When police searched Pacheco-Sanchez, they allegedly found a box of ice cream hidden underneath his sweatshirt, as well as three hypodermic needles and a steak knife. The items he tossed turned out to be a water bottle and an empty protein shake bottle. The officer who chased Pacheco-Sanchez suffered contusions to his hand and forearm. No other injuries were reported.

Attack on Police: Andrea Carson, 25, was charged with throwing bodily fluids at police after she allegedly spit in a cop’s face while being transported to the hospital for medical treatment. Officials say Carson was initially arrested Tuesday morning for simple assault and false imprisonment, but later requested treatment at the hospital. Officials say Carson was in handcuffs and being wheeled out of police headquarters by medical personnel and cops when she became erratic. When police tried to shackle her legs, officials say, she spit in one’s face.

Heroin and Cash: Kameron Smith, 21, was arrested after police allegedly found him in possession of 100 decks of heroin and $766 in cash, which was seized as suspected drug proceeds. Officials say Street Crimes Unit detectives were patrolling the 1000 block of Genesee Street around 7:20 p.m. when they saw Smith quickly park a car and run clutching an item in his hand. When Smith saw cops, officials say, he dropped the item, which turned out to be heroin. Cops also found more heroin in the car.
