Mike Huckabee, the conservative Arkansas governor-turned-Fox News pundit, and Jennifer Granholm, Michigan’s first female governor and renewable energy champion, will go head-to-head in the Spertus Institute for Jewish Leadership and Learning’s inaugural “Critical Conversations” event on March 18, 2018. In a debate moderated by former CNN Washington Bureau Chief Frank Sesno, Huckabee and Granholm will take on issues ranging from gun control to immigration reform.
Spertus leadership says this new programming finds its roots in Judaism’s embrace of civil discourse.
“This series seeks to answer the question: In these fractious and deeply partisan times, are we even capable of holding civil conversations on the challenges we face?” says Spertus President and CEO Dr. Hal M. Lewis. “Judaism teaches that robust debate and respect for diverse opinions can coexist.“
Tickets for the “Critical Conversations” opener are $36. VIP tickets for $100 include a reception with the speakers. Tickets will go on sale in December. Those who sign up at spertus.edu/Conversation will have advance access to tickets. The debate will be held on March 18, 2018 at the Spertus Institute, 610 S Michigan Ave, Chicago.
