Bloomington police are searching for a group of suspects after gunshots rang out early Sunday near a parking garage on the Indiana University campus.

Around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, an emergency alert was issued warning those on or near the IU campus of an active shooter.

In a series of tweets from the Indiana University Twitter page, officials explained that the shots were fired by robbery suspects near the Henderson Parking Garage. After the incident, the suspects fled northwest on foot.

There were no reported injuries, officials said.

IU and Bloomington police determined that the shooting at the garage may have been related to a robbery that took place off-campus in the 500 block of South Fess Avenue.

Hours later, police said the threat was no longer imminent, and that all shelter in place restrictions had been lifted.

Police continue to search for a group of robbery suspects that include three or four black males, and two white males. Police said all the suspects were college-aged, but it is unclear if they have any connection to IU.

The incident remains under investigation.
