Who knew they were friends? Justin Bieber catches up with Maria Shriver in Malibu

She's the former First lady of California and a member of the lauded Kennedy scion.

He's, well, Justin Bieber.

But it seems the pop star is friends with Maria - as the two were spotted chatting happily in Malibu on Monday. 

The 23-year-old had pulled on a black, purple and sky blue DOPE Crew World Tour 95 hoodie over his tiny pair of crimson shorts.

Justin's not without connections to Maria's family, having been seen in the Hamptons in May with her son Patrick Schwarzenegger and Patrick's girlfriend Abby Champion.

When she was spotted with Justin, 61-year-old Maria - the estranged wife of Arnold Schwarzenegger - wore a pink and white patterned blouse.

She left it open over a paler pink top she'd tucked into tight jeans, accessorizing with a massive black, tan and off-white handbag, plus a pair of gleaming sunglasses.

At another point in the day, Justin was seen tearing the hoodie off to reveal a simple grey T-shirt as he took in a sunlit hike alongside a baseball-cap-wearing male pal.

It's also assured those who'd already paid for seats at the scrapped shows - which included dates in the United States, Canada, Japan, Hong Kong, the Philippines and Singapore - that tickets will be refunded at point of purchase.
