Hochul, who took office Jan. 1, 2015, chairs Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s Regional Economic Development Councils. Through the Mid-Hudson Regional Council, she said, 9,000 permanent jobs have been created or retained and nearly 6,000 construction jobs created with investments of $475.9 million for 574 projects. Hochul also plans to talk about the state budget.
A native of Buffalo, Hochul holds degrees from Syracuse University and Catholic University. A former aide to the late U.S. Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan, she was clerk of Erie County and a U.S. congresswoman.
