US Secretary of State John Kerry and US Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker met Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss the progress in bilateral engagement between the two countries.

New Delhi (Sputnik) The two visiting US Secretaries briefed Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the Second India-US Strategic and Commercial Dialogue that concluded in New Delhi. They discussed progress in bilateral engagement since the Prime Minister's visit to the US in June 2016. Secretary Kerry also shared the US perspective on developments in the region and beyond with Prime Minister Modi.

Modi conveyed satisfaction at the expanded and strengthened strategic partnership between India and the US over the past two years that has opened up new vistas for collaboration. He said that he looked forward to rapid progress and the successful completion of the decisions taken with President Obama at the recent Summit Meeting in June.

During the meeting with US Secretary of State John Kerry and US Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker, Prime Minister Modi said that he looked forward to meeting President Obama at the G20 Summit in Hangzhou, China.

US Secretary of State John Kerry and US Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker are on a three day visit to India for the Second India-US Strategic and Commercial Dialogue.

Earlier on Tuesday, John Kerry held discussions with External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and supported India's stand on terrorism and asked Pakistan to stop sheltering terror outfits.
