The White House state dinner in honour of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and wife Sophie Grégoire-Trudeau is the big ticket in D.C. tonight and, as expected, it will be a star-studded event.
The White House has released the guest list for this evening’s soirée, which, along with an abundance of politicians and business people, will include Canadian celebrities Michael J. Fox, with his actress wife Tracy Pollan; former Saturday Night Live star Mike Myers and Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels; Vancouver-born Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds, attending with actress Blake Lively; and former Grey’s Anatomy star Sandra Oh.

The two leaders made jokes about who’s country was better at hockey, but National Hockey League commissioner Gary Bettman will be on hand if that debate continues over dinner.
Also on hand will be Trudeau’s mother Margaret Trudeau, who has been to one of these events before, but Trudeau’s in-laws, Jean Grégoire and Estelle Blais, will be attending their first state dinner.
