Governor Noem address meth, vaping issues

PIERRE, S.D. (KWAT) — When Kristi Noem was elected governor of South Dakota, she made it clear that one of her priorities was to clean up the meth problem in the state.

Nearly one year into her term in Pierre, she says good progress is being made.

She says a statewide anti-meth media campaign will be rolled out soon.

The governor hinted that you’ll likely see action during the 2020 legislative session to address the vaping issue too.

At last check, the South Dakota Department of Health reported 11 cases of vaping-related illnesses in the state.
