Ravitch Unsuitable To Be Lt. Governor

Now Ravitch has been nominated to be Lieutenant Governor of the State of New York. I hope that Ravitch shall once again heed my advice and decline a public post for which he is eminently unsuitable.

In my previous column, “Old Wall Street Friends Bring Unpleasant Memories,” which was published on July 13, 2009, I expounded upon the efforts of Richard Ravitch to cover up criminal activity while he was a member of the board of the American Stock Exchange in the early 1990s.

Today I came across a letter, dated September 17, 1995, which I had sent certified mail Z 126 442 635, to Ms. Carol Gresser, President of the Board of Education. In this letter I expounded upon: Ravitch’s cover up of a series of sexual assaults by a member of the Board of the American Stock Exchange; the involvement of Robert VanCaneghan and Louis Miceli, members of the Board of the American Stock Exchange, with the Italian Mafia in the person of Al Avasso, a convicted felon, in the stock fraud, PNF; and, the involvement of a member of the Board of the Amex with cocaine smuggling.

Of course, to prove that I was a bona fide whistle-blower I included a copy of my FBI wire order, which stated that the FBI was investigating the stock fraud, PNF, which was listed on the American Stock Exchange.

I went so far as to distribute copies of this letter outside the offices of the Board of Education—so fervently did I believe that Ravitch was a danger to the children of New York City. A danger to those children, whose parents did not belong to the exclusive Harmonie Club, of which Ravitch is a member.

Subsequently Ravitch declined to become President of the Board of Education. I believe that my efforts helped influence Ravitch in his decision to decline becoming President of the Board of Education.

Now Ravitch has been nominated to be Lieutenant Governor of the State of New York. I hope that Ravitch shall once again heed my advice and decline a public post for which he is eminently unsuitable.

Ravitch did not respond to my previous message seeking comment.
